Among other forms of self-expression dance is almost involuntary and instinctive. It’s the body’s natural language and this painting emphasizes just that. It’s a raw portrayal of nude women circling around together in a joyous dance. In their natural state they are immersed in festivities and the present moment. The idea is crude yet universal.
